CKE TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Construction is planned for 14th Street Ramp to Westbound Glenmore April – November 2023. For more information can be found on the City of Calgary website.
As part of the City of Calgary’s ongoing efforts to improve and maintain infrastructure, The City of Calgary will be resurfacing 14 Street S.W. from 75 Ave S.W. to Glenmore Trail.
Aecon Transportation West will be working in the area within the week of June 12.
While the main priority of the work is asphalt rehabilitation, there will also be curb and gutter work and manhole adjustments.
Please note that work is weather dependent, and the scheduled dates are tentative and subject to changes.
How will this work impact the area?
- This project, including detours and lane closures, is being coordinated with the ongoing bridge rehabilitation work on the 14 Street ramp.
- When construction begins, it is anticipated there will be single lane closures during off-peak hours to improve safety of pedestrians and drivers.
- In order to reduce disruptions and to ensure that there is minimal impact to commuters, businesses, and emergency services, paving work will take place at nighttime.
General road repair information:
- Concrete repair: This procedure involves removal and replacement of existing damaged concrete.
- Paving: This involves milling the existing asphalt surface and inlaying the new asphalt.
Please note that new pavement can take up to three hours to cool and traffic restrictions will need to remain until this is completed.
- Road markings: Temporary road markings will be in place until the permanent can be completed.
