A Great Community with Great Gathering Places!

CKE is a southwest tri-community comprised of Chinook Park, Kelvin Grove and Eagle Ridge. Developed in 1960’s, CKE is now a mature inner-city community home to 900 families. The area is well connected to Calgary’s major roadways including Glenmore Trail, Crowchild Trail and 14th Street. Public transit is easily accessible with Chinook and Heritage LRT stations within walking distance.

CKE is conveniently located close to the Glenmore Reservoir and all of the associated recreational amenities, including boat docks, regional bike paths, the Weaselhead Flats hiking, and Glenmore Park. Heritage Park, located in Eagle Ridge is an outdoor historical museum and a popular attraction for families. There are several schools in the area including a public elementary and high school.

Mission Statement:

CKE Community Association will strive to build a community which nurtures belonging and motivates its residents to become involved: fostering a proud, safe, energetic, inclusive and connected community.

Guidebook for Great Communities

As many of you may be aware, The Guidebook for Great Communities, a policy document to inform community planning across the city, is on the agenda for the March 22 Combined meeting of Calgary City Council.

Council will vote on SPC on Planning and Urban Development’s (PUD) recommendation to approve the Guidebook for Great communities.

While public information sessions are now complete, there is still time to provide your feedback.

For questions about the Guidebook and to share your views ahead of the Council vote, CKE residents can reach out to Jeremy Farkas, Ward 11 Councillor at ward11@calgary.ca.

To read the Guidebook or to learn more, you can visit the City of Calgary web site here.

We currently have a historian in the neighbourhood that is working on getting us archived information that we can share on this page. Thank you for your patience.
