Blue Sky Gym

This room is the feature space of the community centre. Its primary purpose is to provide space for recreational and physical activities in a gymnasium setting. The Blue Sky Gym can also be used for casual social functions.

  • Size: 2019 sq. ft.
  • Capacity: Comfortably accommodates 150 seated, or 250 standing
  • Sample Activities: Sports, exercise programs, youth group programs, dances and social gatherings, such as reunions, birthday parties, socials, etc
  • Rentals Include: Up to 20 tables that hold 8 people each & 150 chairs; sport balls and sporting equipment, storage for long-term tenants
  • Catering Style Kitchen: Access to catering style kitchen can be shared or exclusive for an extra fee
  • Future Goals: Audio & visual equipment, basketball hoops

Rental Rates (per hour):

  • CKE Resident Member Price: $70
  • Non-CKE Resident Member Price: $90

Full Day Rentals: (10am – 2am based on a 16 hr rental)

Council will vote on SPC on Planning and Urban Development’s (PUD) recommendation to approve the Guidebook for Great communities.

Cascade Dance Studio

Looking for a beautiful studio to host dance, martial arts or fitness programs in central SW Calgary? This space includes a mirrored wall, exercise bar and sprung flooring that is shock absorbent and comfortable. The Studio is located on the second floor of the centre.

  • Size: 829 sq. ft.
  • Capacity: Up to 40 people depending on activity
  • Sample Activities: Dance, ballet, fitness classes or martial arts
  • Available Rentals: Audio equipment, storage for long-term tenants

Located at the front of the centre, the Lifestyle Room is bright space with abundant natural light and easy access to washrooms and the main entrance. The space is designed for small and intimate group gatherings. Hold a creative class, personal development program or rent the space for your DIY arts group!

  • Capacity: Up to 35 people
  • Sample Activities: Book club, small birthday parties, art programs, lunch and learns, children’s academic classes, AGM’S, learning or training programs
  • Rental Include: Up to 7 tables that hold 6 people each, & 35 chairs; storage options for long-term tenants
  • Wheelchair Accessible 
  • Catering Style Kitchen: Access to catering style kitchen can be shared or exclusive for an extra fee
  • Future Goals: Audio & visual equipment

Forget about coffee shop meetings! The meeting room at the CKE community centre is an affordable space with free parking. Located on the second floor, the Board/Meeting Room holds a large meeting table with comfortable chairs and audio visual equipment for digital presentations.

  • Size: 441 sq. ft.
  • Capacity: Up to 15 people (large comfortable seating for 11)
  • Sample Activities: Casual business meetings, board meetings, small training sessions, planning workshops, AGM’s
  • Rentals Include: Audio visual equipment including a Smart TV and a white board
  • Catering Style Kitchen: Access to catering style kitchen can be shared or exclusive for an extra fee
  • Wheelchair Accessible

Be sure to take advantage of the new and improved Skate Shack while ice skating in the winter, storage zones, washrooms and free parking. *Note there is additional parking available at Henry Wise Wood High School south of the community centre.
