Our CKE neighbourhood will be hosting some great activities this month, starting with our next bottle drive! This has been such a successful fundraiser, so be sure to raise a glass (or a bottle or two) before January 9, in support of the Community Association. It is a great excuse to keep that holiday spirit flowing! Our CKE Clothing Bin is always open for donations too. Drop off your gently used clothing in the blue bin outside the hall any time, and it will be donated to those in need. Thank you to everyone in our community for your generosity and kindness, it is so wonderful to see our community rising up to support those less fortunate, in so many ways.
Thank you also to everyone who has been taking good care to keep our CKE rinks safe during the enhanced COVID-19 restrictions. You may have seen temporary signage go up, asking us all to limit our time on the rinks, maintain a hockey stick apart from folks not in our household cohort, and requesting that we obey all of the provincially mandated regulations on outdoor gatherings and mask rules. We appreciate how well everyone is doing with these difficult limitations, we’d like to thank all of you in our CKE, for helping us keep our rinks, and our community safe. Thank you especially to our Rink Rat volunteers who’ve helped us maintain our rinks at times when ice surfaces in town have been few and far between, you have been a bright light in this difficult time for many CKE skaters!
Stay well, stay safe, and stay in touch!
