Jim MacLean and his wife Corinne moved to Kelvin Grove in 1994. They started with a rental,
and realized that this was the community in which they wanted to raise their family, so
proceeded to buy a home in the neighbourhood and, subsequently, the home next door to that
one. All three homes are within about 400 feet of each other! They have three grown daughters,
all of whom attended Chinook Park Elementary and Henry Wise Wood High School.
Jim grew up in Nova Scotia and moved to Calgary to join Chevron’s Land Department after
obtaining his Bachelor of Law degree at Dalhousie University. He is now semi-retired, with a
part-time consulting practice focused on helping clients optimize commercial outcomes,
resolving contractual issues and providing training on land agreements.
He was the principal draftsman of the major update to the CKE By-laws in 2003 and the
subsequent 2022 update.
His hobbies include music, exercise and following our Calgary Flames.
