President’s Message – February 2015

I am always glad to see notices for Heritage Soccer registration go up in the community as it is a sure sign that mosquito season… I mean spring, is on the way. Heritage Soccer is a community soccer league that runs for May and June every year. The league runs Tuesdays and Thursdays, all matches are at Chinook Park School, and it covers kids from U4 up to U12. The focus is on fun and participation.

For the last several years, Sean and Barb Clarke have done an outstanding job organizing the league. As their kids will be graduating from the league this year, they are looking for new volunteers to take over. They will continue to run it this year helping transition new recruits into the role. In the past, they have run the league themselves, but it could be run by a group of volunteers as well. If you are interested in volunteering with Heritage Soccer, please let Barb, Sean or myself know.  Heritage Soccer is a terrific asset to our community and I think it is very important it continues to be a success.

Lastly, as we have advertised on our bold sign for the last few weeks, we currently have eight different fitness classes running out of the community hall. That makes it difficult to avoid those new years resolutions! Make sure you check out this newsletter as well as our webpage for details.
