President’s Message | April 2019

| News

Hi Neighbours,

It’s been great to see the kids out in the neighborhood, the fields filled with soccer players and the Flames back in the playoffs!! We have close to 400 kids playing Heritage Soccer this year- an increase of about 15%. Thanks to Lindsey, Siobhan and their team of volunteers and all of the coaches for their commitment. There has been a risk in the past couple of years of either losing the league or handing it over to a 3rd party to run. It’s great that we’ve been able to keep this ‘Community-run’.

Thanks to everyone who has made purchases from the flower campaign this year and to Dawn and Robin for their contributions in organizing. Sales will continue until the end of April. Keep an eye out on the CKE’s website and social media postings for future fundraisers and community events. We have confirmed another Backyard Wil Concert in July and are starting to plan for the grand opening of the community centre.

The CKE CA AGM is scheduled for May 15th at St Peter’s Church on 75th Ave. at 7pm. Come out and support the Association; you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and help shape the future of the CKE. If anyone is considering joining the board or interested in any other volunteering opportunities, please reach out to myself or any other board members, we’ll be happy to answer any questions.

I hope to see you all at the AGM and out and about in the neighborhood.

Merritt Ranseth,
CKE CA President

Closure will begin at 7:00am on May 15th and re-open on May 21 at 5:00pm. The timelines may extend due to unforeseen circumstances or emergency situations out of their control.

Hours of work are expected to be from 7:00am – 5:00pm; however, the road will remain closed outside of work hours until the project is completed.
